Quick entry & thoughts.

So... I am getting pretty excited to have a sweet little newborn, and to meet this little girl. HOWEVER, on the flip side, I am more nervous to have a newborn AND toddler to care for. Bittersweet I guess. Anyway, it will be here before we know it. New Jonesy news, my sister Vanessa got engaged this weekend to Nolan Hatch. Exciting! They plan to get married at the end of April. Because of this, I am reeeeally hoping for a March baby! Do you think begging my doctor for an induction will work? Hehehe. One week early would be March 29th. Is that too much to ask? :) Man, that seems just around the corner. Our baby name hunt continues.. Scott and I just can't agree on much this time! I don't think we could name her until we meet her anyway, so I guess we'll just keep working on our list of options and name her at the hospital. That's what we did with Tenley. However, it was just as hard to pick a name the day after she was born! I wonder if this baby will have red hair??? I am guessing she has light brown fuzzy newborn hair. And her ultrasound looks like she might have my nose. We'll see! I can't wait to find out how cute she is! So as long as plans and dates don't change with Vanessa and Nolan, I will be in AZ the last weekend in April. Hope I can see some of you old friends! And can't wait to be with family.

I can't believe Christmas is this week!! I have been looking forward to it a lot this year. All of my big plans for baking have been dissolved, I was sick with a cold this week and just felt so lazy! Maybe I can get some traditional Christmas Eve baking done with family on Thursday. :) We didn't spend very much on Christmas this year, but I found some really perfect gifts that I am excited to give! Tenley is getting practical things: a training potty, sippy cups, and a couple toys. One of her toys is play cars... She loves playing with boy things like cars and balls. So I looked online for little girl cars, and couldn't really find anything. But combing through Walmart this week, I came across a cute little animal/bug car set for $10. I'm so excited! Anyway, I Figure I better take advantage of the cheap and practical things while she doesn't know what presents are. :) I love Christmas. I try to focus on the true meaning, and on Christ's life, but sometimes it is so hard. The world is totally distracting from it. But I have been able to feel the Spirit of giving and helping. Like the guy at the Jack in the Box window that gave me my food for free. Haha. :) Anyway, here is a sweet little Christmas video clip my cousin Kimberly sent to me:

We didn't send out a Christmas letter, because I just never know what to write in them. But please know that we love you all, and hope that the fresh new
year brings nothing but happiness, success, and joy to you and your families. Have a Merry Christmas!

MYTHBUSTERS! rachelle's *boy or girl baby* edition.

I decided to BUST the myths! Today I tested several myths that are supposed to determine the sex of your unborn child. Here are my results:

1. Urine test: mix with draino, what color does it change?
BOY
2. Pendulum test: back and forth, or circles? GIRL
3. Cravings: sweet, or sour? BOY
4. Key test: pick up by wide or skinny end? GIRL
5. Chinese calendar: GIRL
6. Husband’s weight: no weight change. BOY
7. Heartbeat: the doctor guessed: BOY
8. Dream interpretation: i've had 3 dreams that it is a BOY
9. Baby raised hands during ultra-sound?: Definitely. GIRL

Looks nearly 50/50 to me. :) We find out via ultrasound on Thursday morning! So check back for the mythbuster results!

Punkin Patch, Petting Zoo, & Spaghetti.

Tenley and her friend Miss Lilly took their moms to the Pumpkin Patch and Petting Zoo! Look how tiny the baby pigmy goats are! Several pictures down, you'll see Tenley's "Popeye" face. Occassionally she'll decide to talk out of the side of her mouth, and sounds like a pirate or Popeye. It is hilarious! She has also recently figured out how to snort. She will run through the house smiling, giggling, and snorting in between! She is a funny little thing, and always in a world of her own!

CHiCKEN, and "proof."

She got called a BOY a lot on Halloween, because she was a CHICKEN and not a little princess or fairy. :) But when I found this costume for $10 I couldn't resist, it just fit her quirky little personality so perfect! Although she looks very somber in this picture, she was actually a little goof-brain whenever we'd put her costume on her. She knew it was something funny and different. Anyway, Halloween was lots of fun this year! More pictures to come.. if I ever get to it. =)

my dad asked to show him "proof" that he has a new grand-baby on the way. he is trying to "double his grand-kids by 2010!" so... here you go, dad. =) 18.5 week bump, in all its glory! and this little jammer is having a good time in there! i've been feeling lots of movement in the last few days! girl, or boy? take your guess! we find out on the 19th.

Wahoo! The weather is changing!

I am so excited for Fall! And the upcoming holidays. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas! Tenley's going to be a little white chicken for Halloween. She looks hilariously cute in her costume! And when I tried it on her, she LOVED it and just kept running around smiling, and doing goofy hand gestures. She is a funny girl! Can't wait for Thanksgiving.. several of my siblings are coming up to Idaho to spend it with us, and I am so excited! Hope, hope, hoping Chad 'n Ashley are able to come, that would make it even betta! And Christmas.. the music, the baking (lots of new recipes I'm excited to bake & share), the lights & trees! Ahhh, I can't wait! The weather is changing. I don't know why, but more than ever I am enjoying breathing in the new crisp Fall air. Idaho is so pretty in the fall! The leaves really do change to multiple colors, and it is beautiful! I can't wait to dig out my boots, and recreate fun cold weather outfits. :)

We never really got to all of our summer house/yard projects, but now that the weather is changing, we are loving it & feeling so motivated! Scott cleaned our carpet, organized the garage, and is planning to power-wash our fence this weekend. I...(*ahem* wasted time but enjoyed reading New Moon this week), and have since started on a few projects (deep cleaning & reorganizing closets mostly). I am going to share my project list, for my reference only! It's a good motivator for me to work on & finish things.

-Paint over living room walls
-Hall bathroom (eventually tear out vinyl, lay tile, re-do floor boards)
-Tackle the spare bedroom. AHH!
-Go through my clothes and shoes again
-Go through Scott's clothes!
-DI run or yard sale
-Box up T's clothes that don't fit
-The list will grow...

No pictures this post. I'm just not feelin' it. :)

The Life of a One Year Old:

Eat Fig Newton..
Watch cartoons..
Eat a popsicle..
Climb on the couch & play..
(frequently involves unfolding mom's laundry.)
Eat steak fries..
Play with toys..
(Sometimes even reach for the deepest one, & get stuck. Cry & scream 'til mom or dad hears & rescues you.)
And sleep when you think no one is watching..
