lazy days...

we have been so lazy lately, and it feels GREAT. scott is not in school this (summer) semester, so we get to spend so much more time together. anyway, here are some misc pics from last week, mostly of baby T:she always has her tongue hangin' out of her mouth.

she DOES have teeth!

tenley finally cut her two bottom teeth a few weeks ago. and boy are they growing fast! it is hilarious to us to see her toothy smile! we were so used to the gummy grin. maybe she'll let me get a picture of them so i can share. this picture (below) is from a field trip tenley went on with her babysitter to the dentist! T didn't actually have a dental appointment, it just made for a cute picture. funny, huh?! this is one of the many fun pictures i get texted to me while i'm at work. thanks jenn! :)

not enough fabric... bummer, dude!

so... i don't have enough fabric left over to make the drapes i wanted to. but my little sister natalie helped me choose a really cute valance that we are working on! i sure love natalie! she is helping me a lot with T this week, and we are having fun hanging out!

update... finished it tonight. i'm sure you've all been dying to know. ha! ;)

It was time for the timing belt/water pump maintenance to be done on our Accord, and the quotes we got from mechanics was more than we could afford. So I called my handy DAD and asked him if he would help. :) We bought his plane ticket, and he flew up and he and scott fixed the car! It saved us hundreds of dollars. THANKS, DAD!! Plus, it was a really fun visit! Heather and her girls drove up for the weekend too, so it was just a big 'ol party. Here is a picture of "Grandpa Jones" with 3 of his 4 grand daughters (no grand-sons yet... get on that, people! hehe!). Tenley of course is just as cheesey as ever. Never fails.

FINALLY going to start T's curtains!

i finally decided on curtains i like (and that will match) to "copy" for T's room! you might know this about me: once i actually decide on something, i am VERY determined.. so check back soon to see the finished product! can't wait for T's bedtime so i can get started. i hope i have enough leftover fabric. hmmm...

.little.miss.personality. . . and bird update. :]

tenley KNOWS what "funny" is. she knows! she is always doing silly things, and laughing at herself. what a little weirdo! she is also learning to walk. she takes the littlest baby steps, then comes to a wobbley standing hault to get re-grounded and take a few more steps. it is so cute! we really need to get our video camera out! she is becoming much more observant, and easily entertained. she will sometimes watch TV while i relax, or sit in her high chair and self feed for a good half hour or so while i cook or do the dishes. she LOVES our dog jack, and laughs a lot while playing with him. he likes her too! he is becoming very protective, and will bark at you if he thinks you are bothering her.

speaking of jack... he sniffed out a family of quail in our bushes in the back yard! he chased the momma (or daddy?) quail up the fence, and the babies just split in all directions. they froze and tried to hide into their surroundings. they sat very very still for about 15 minutes, until they knew jack was gone, and then i heard the momma churping/purring, calling them back to safety. it was amazing! i snapped a picture of one, but it doesn't justify how TINY they are. so i will also post a picture i stole from google images (not taken by me.) these little guys could not have been more than 2 days old. (yes, i have baby robins AND quail in my yard. the robins have grown so much in one week, they are about ready to fly the coupe! i couldn't believe how fast they grew!)

so tiny and cute, right?! it took everything in me not to pick one up! anyway.. it was fun. other than bird watching, not much else is new. me and T have gone on LOTS of walks, the weather has been so nice! hope everyone is having a great summer so far!

livin' la vida loca...

I am having a hard time lately balancing out being a good mom, house wife, and working part time. I feel like I can't be great at all 3. I know a lot of you have mastered it. HOW? Help! Obviously, being a mother is my priority. But I feel like I can't do that well without lacking in other areas. Ugh. Just a rough day I guess.
