Elliotte's Baby Blessing

I love blessing days! They are so sweet. Today was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed having family visit for Ellie's blessing. Scott did a wonderful job. I love him. Look at my cute little family!

Ellie's Birth Pics

Good-bye, Nampa. Due to a job lay-off, we decided to move our family and accept a new job for Scott. With the current job market we didn't want to pass up a good opportunity. Scott moved down and started the new job, me and Tenley stayed behind. I packed up the house the week before my induction, and me and T stayed at Scott's parents awaiting the arrival of the new baby! She didn't come on her own, so we went in for the induction on March 29th...
Good-bye Nampa. Good-bye Treasure Valley friends and family. Good-bye house we bought just after getting married. Good-bye sweet memories.
Got checked into the hospital, was 3 cm & 75%. My Dr. used the Prostaglandin gel to induce instead of Pitocin.. she applied it at 8:30 am and we were ready to rock and roll!
Ok, contractions started within 10 minutes, and there was no break. It was like one big long 30 minute cramping. Then they finally got into a rhythm and I had a little break in between each one. I got into the tub and enjoyed the soothing warm water. Decided I was probably dilated enough to get my epidural.. got out of tub. Epidural in, and I feel excellent. Dr. comes in to check on me, I'm at a 6, she breaks my water. She says she thinks it will not be a long labor, and should be "smooth sailing." It is 12:30 pm, she leaves. I tell the nurse I feel pressure and think I am getting close. "No, the monitor will tell me when the baby begins to descend, her heart rate will drop." Ok. I tell her again i feel pressure, can you check me?. Same response from nurse. 3 times I ask her to check me. No. It's now almost 1:00 pm...
Surprise, the Dr. pops her head back in and says "I just have this feeling I should check you before I go back to the office for my appointments." Her eyes light up and she says "yep, baby is right there!!" and starts gowning up without taking her eyes off me for a split second. A few sets of pushes, and baby is here at 1:07 p.m.! Dr. holds her up and says "we have a little peanut!" She is BEAUTIFUL and looks so tiny in comparison to her sister at birth. 7 lbs, 3 oz & 20 in. (I was surprised that 8 oz smaller makes a huge difference on a newborn.) We named her Elliotte Joy Hurd. Ellie for short, Joy after my grandma.

Tenley's reaction was: She walked up to Ellie, and rubbed her head as if she was a puppy, then walked away back to her french fries. :)

We just LOVE this little sweet baby and times is going by too fast. She is now 6 weeks old, and getting so chubby and alert! I will work on getting some current pictures up, of both the girls. Thank you for all the phone calls, texts, prayers, gifts, cards, etc. We love you all!

"Lady in Waiting"

I am just playing the waiting game at this point! The last month of pregnancy is so frustrating to me, because you just never know when or if anything is going to happen. You could walk around dilated to a 4 for weeks, or be dilated to a 1 and go into labor that night. Anywho.. this is the plan for this baby's birth: My doctor is planning to induce March 29th. So we only have 6 more days, at most. I am all sorts of emotions this time around, but mostly just ready to have her out and get on with life. Here is what we've been up to while "waiting"...
Me & T took Jack to the groomer at our mall, and walked and window shopped while we waited for him to get handsome. He looks SO much better, he was starting to gross me out.
Just a cute picture of T takin' a bath. She sure loves to play in the tub.
Watching TV at grandma's house.
Playing blocks together. I built this, and pretty sure T knocked it down immediately after.
And I have been sewing (while T watches cartoons) dresses for Vanessa's wedding. She wanted all the little nieces to wear matching dresses. They are only halfway done here, but the bodice takes the longest so I am getting really close to being done! The new baby's dress is going to be so teeny tiny! Girls are fun!
(Heather I posted late at night for you since you are working night shift. ;) Love you tons & can't wait to see you next week!)

Quirky Stuff.

Lately Tenley has hated going to nursery at church. Normally when she screams hysterically Scott will take her into his Sunday school class. But today Scott couldn't, he's been working out of town. Soooo me and Tenley kicked it behind the Primary room piano. I blocked her in with chairs and she ate a zillion fishie crackers, screamed here and there, and played random notes on the piano while I was playing. Naughty pants.

Tenley was being funny trying on my shoes, so I tried to take a picture.. right when I did she turned the shoe over and licked the bottom. Sick! Great timing though. :) Do you like her mullet? Me too.

I have loved Jamba Juice the last couple of weeks. We stopped to get one, and the smoothie was a little too big for the cup, so the cute worker put the extra in a kids cup for Tenley. And Tenley thought she was sooo cool with her own cup.

We have spent a LOT of time at Heather and Zach's this month... Tenley loves her cousins, and knows their house and everyone really well now, it's cute. We were cruising around in Heather's Pilot the other day, and I turned around and saw this. How cute is that?

Tomorrow is my sister Vanessa's bridal shower.. here are the party favors I put together in her wedding colors.

Trying on grandma's shoes (it would look even funnier if grandma's foot wasn't a size 5 1/2 haha).

She loves this little elephant. I've just kept it in her crib as a little snuggly, but recently have noticed that she really likes to have it with her during the day too. She was hugging on it in the car until I pulled into the driveway and could actually take a picture. Still cute.

Cheerios... her new favorite breakfast. Sometimes I can even sneak in a few banana slices.

My belly last week.

Aaaand.. if you could see inside my belly, this is what's goin' on. So if you catch me complaining, don't judge. haha!
