swore i would NEVER share these...

I swore I would NEVER ever post or share these pictures with ANYONE, for multiple reasons. some being that: I am a whale (38 lbs of pregnancy weight + IV fluids is not a cute combo), & Tenley is covered in disgusting white Vernix.

But here we are, fast approaching a year later and I am flooded with sweet memories of her birth. This year has definitely felt like a year's time, but I just can't believe how fast babies grow. Tenley is a toddler. :'( She turns 1 on the 23rd. And no, we are not ready for another little one yet, but when the time is right, we will sure be excited to do it again!

I don't think I ever shared my birth story, probably because there wasn't much to it. But for journaling purposes, I will give a quick recap. I went over my due date & was induced, so no dramatic labor story. The pitocin rocked my world, I was pushing within several hours of being admitted. Scott called the nurse for an epidural, and I am glad he did, because I am my mother's daughter, and once my water broke I was dilated to a 10 within an hour and a half. I pushed for nearly 2 hours, which I know is normal for a first time delivery, but I hated it. I didn't realize how exhausting it would be. This is the only reason I would consider a delivery w/out pain medication next time.. to be able to feel my pushing better, and get baby out. Less exhausting for me, and more importantly, less straining on poor baby's head. :( Anyway.. once Dr. W came in to deliver her, I had the extra motivation to finish pushing her out. Aaahhhh 3 more pushes, and she made her debut! My first thought was "yayyy i can relax, no more pushing," until they plopped her onto me, and I realized... oh my gosh, I just pushed out a BABY.

Tenley has been such an amazing blessing in our relationship. I guess we didn't realize how much having a child would put perspective into your life. She has brought us so much joy, and the reality and responsibility of raising children in today's world has sure motivated us to set better goals and prepare for the future. Happy Birthday Baby T!

Enjoy these (embarassing) pictures. :)

how exciting to look at these pictures. Even tho this is my 3rd kid, im so scared for the "Labor". I pushed for 45 mins with Kaden and i thought that was exhausting, so to here you pushed for 2 hours, i feel exhausted for you. I only pushed like 3 times with Taylor, so im hoping i will just have to open my legs with a little cough and out comes baby this time. lol.

Rachelle, you look like a princess compared to mine! I was so swollen, my hair tie fell out and my hair is a disaster and I had no make up because I woke up at 11 pm with contractions! Seriously, no one will ever see mine!!!

Oh such sweet pictures. Your little scared face made me wish I was there for you more and not on vacation in Oregon that week. You guys look so overwhelmed and so excited at the same time. Tenley is a doll and was a pretty newborn. I like the tongue sticking out already. Her little cute attitude!
