Wahoo! The weather is changing!

I am so excited for Fall! And the upcoming holidays. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas! Tenley's going to be a little white chicken for Halloween. She looks hilariously cute in her costume! And when I tried it on her, she LOVED it and just kept running around smiling, and doing goofy hand gestures. She is a funny girl! Can't wait for Thanksgiving.. several of my siblings are coming up to Idaho to spend it with us, and I am so excited! Hope, hope, hoping Chad 'n Ashley are able to come, that would make it even betta! And Christmas.. the music, the baking (lots of new recipes I'm excited to bake & share), the lights & trees! Ahhh, I can't wait! The weather is changing. I don't know why, but more than ever I am enjoying breathing in the new crisp Fall air. Idaho is so pretty in the fall! The leaves really do change to multiple colors, and it is beautiful! I can't wait to dig out my boots, and recreate fun cold weather outfits. :)

We never really got to all of our summer house/yard projects, but now that the weather is changing, we are loving it & feeling so motivated! Scott cleaned our carpet, organized the garage, and is planning to power-wash our fence this weekend. I...(*ahem* wasted time but enjoyed reading New Moon this week), and have since started on a few projects (deep cleaning & reorganizing closets mostly). I am going to share my project list, for my reference only! It's a good motivator for me to work on & finish things.

-Paint over living room walls
-Hall bathroom (eventually tear out vinyl, lay tile, re-do floor boards)
-Tackle the spare bedroom. AHH!
-Go through my clothes and shoes again
-Go through Scott's clothes!
-DI run or yard sale
-Box up T's clothes that don't fit
-The list will grow...

No pictures this post. I'm just not feelin' it. :)

The Life of a One Year Old:

Eat Fig Newton..
Watch cartoons..
Eat a popsicle..
Climb on the couch & play..
(frequently involves unfolding mom's laundry.)
Eat steak fries..
Play with toys..
(Sometimes even reach for the deepest one, & get stuck. Cry & scream 'til mom or dad hears & rescues you.)
And sleep when you think no one is watching..

In Loving Memory of Kameron Haban

"For those who don't already know, Kameron Haban lost his battle with Lupus Wednesday morning. He has touched the lives of so many with his huge smile and genuine kindness, and will be missed by so many! Jami has also touched many with her amazing courage and faith throughout their ordeal. Whether you know them or not, please keep Jami and 2 1/2 year old son Kason in your prayers.

This sweet family is in need of emotional, spiritual and physical support. Kameron spent more than the last month of his life in the ICU. We are all blessed with an opportunity to help. Yesterday a bank account was opened for them. Anyone can go to any Bank of America and make a donation to the account under JamiLynn Haban for the benefit of Kameron Haban. You can also make an online donation at paypal.com by sending it to habanfundraiser@gmail.com

Jami did an amazing job of updating everyone on her blog kamandjami.blogspot.com if you would like to read more about their experience. It is extremely intimate, and sure to touch your heart.

Please help us lend support to the Haban family during this time. Feel free to help spread the word of how to make a donation to those who you know will want to help."

Cuddling before her B-day BBQ...
Are you jealous of my Backyardigans temporary tattoo??

swore i would NEVER share these...

I swore I would NEVER ever post or share these pictures with ANYONE, for multiple reasons. some being that: I am a whale (38 lbs of pregnancy weight + IV fluids is not a cute combo), & Tenley is covered in disgusting white Vernix.

But here we are, fast approaching a year later and I am flooded with sweet memories of her birth. This year has definitely felt like a year's time, but I just can't believe how fast babies grow. Tenley is a toddler. :'( She turns 1 on the 23rd. And no, we are not ready for another little one yet, but when the time is right, we will sure be excited to do it again!

I don't think I ever shared my birth story, probably because there wasn't much to it. But for journaling purposes, I will give a quick recap. I went over my due date & was induced, so no dramatic labor story. The pitocin rocked my world, I was pushing within several hours of being admitted. Scott called the nurse for an epidural, and I am glad he did, because I am my mother's daughter, and once my water broke I was dilated to a 10 within an hour and a half. I pushed for nearly 2 hours, which I know is normal for a first time delivery, but I hated it. I didn't realize how exhausting it would be. This is the only reason I would consider a delivery w/out pain medication next time.. to be able to feel my pushing better, and get baby out. Less exhausting for me, and more importantly, less straining on poor baby's head. :( Anyway.. once Dr. W came in to deliver her, I had the extra motivation to finish pushing her out. Aaahhhh 3 more pushes, and she made her debut! My first thought was "yayyy i can relax, no more pushing," until they plopped her onto me, and I realized... oh my gosh, I just pushed out a BABY.

Tenley has been such an amazing blessing in our relationship. I guess we didn't realize how much having a child would put perspective into your life. She has brought us so much joy, and the reality and responsibility of raising children in today's world has sure motivated us to set better goals and prepare for the future. Happy Birthday Baby T!

Enjoy these (embarassing) pictures. :)
